Gotta love it when you can make something you can't draw well
Basically it's just regular card from the craft store, except the one I bought is gold and has a slight shine to it. Best advice I can give you about starting is to first experiment with bits of card and see how scoring them in different ways creates different shapes when you fold it (curved lines, straight lines). Then you can slowly figure out what type of scores you need to make to create for example the head/beak etc.
